After a detailed briefing we put into the inland Blue Hole cave system and begin our magical underground journey which will take us flowing into the Caves Branch River cave system. At one point we flow out of a limestone mountain into a pebble beach surrounded by jungle and this is lunch time.

Cave Exploration & Camping
There is something very unique about caving in Belize and that is the fact that 99% of all caves found here have evidence that the truly magnificent Maya culture performed sacred rituals inside these caves, possibly before the 2nd century BC to around 1100 AD. Every expedition in search for new caves is filled with excitement as there are always new findings. A very high percentage of the Maya Mountains is still unexplored, and with the huge amount of caves in them, every hole, crack or crevasse can lead into something big, or to ancient Mayan artifacts that have never been seen by any humans since those were left there at the time of the collapse of Maya Civilization.
