YES to UPSIDE DOWN TOURS!
It was my wife's birthday and she would rather enjoy an experience than pressies. Cave tubing with Upside Down Tours is what I chose and did not regret. Rose met us at St. Herman's early and guided us to where the caves were giving a nature talk along the way. Once inside the caves (which we had to ourselves) Rose spent time giving us the history - very interesting and was super helpful carrying my wife's inner tube down the slippery steps. The perfect tour company - wish we had more days as would have chosen other tours with them.

Unforgettable Cave Kayaking Adventure with Great Service!
My family and I had an incredible cave kayaking journey in Belize, and it was an experience we will never forget! The highlight was the exclusivity of exploring the 4-5 caves with just the four of us, making it feel like a private adventure. A delightful bonus was the picnic stop in the jungle, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch and a refreshing swim in the rapid stream. The team took care of all the logistics, allowing us to relax and enjoy the moment. Special thanks to Kevin, whose knowledge and friendliness made the trip exceptional. I highly recommend this company for a unique and memorable adventure in Belize!

Kayaking was the highlight of an amazing trip!
I will preface that we are a family of 4 with 2 kids 12 & 14 and we love adventure. So far in Belize and Guatemala we’ve gone to Tikal, ATM, cave tubing at St Herman’s and now kayaking the 7 mile cave tour with Upside down Tours. All of these were amazing but the kayaking was our favorite adventure of the trip (and all of them are fantastic). Pedro was our guide and he gave a love of education on the caves and culture and he was just and all around great guy to hang out with. Kevin was also very nice but unfortunately we don’t speak Spanish so couldn’t talk to him. The tour started at St Herman’s and we took dirt roads through rivers and orchards to get to the starting point. The water level is starting to get lower due to dry season so there were a couple of times we needed to exit the kayak to get past a shallow point. It’s not too strenuous as the current does most of the work but you will get an arm work out. Lunch was homemade tortillas and bologna lettuce, hard boiled eggs, etc. nothing fancy but it was great. Pedro showed us how to catch fish with our hand by luring them with tortillas lol. If you don’t like physical activity or darkness, just skip this but if you like a little adventure and don’t need glamour on your tour, try this. We toured in Panama, Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, around Europe and this was honestly one of the best. It was a day none of us will ever forget. Thank you!

Caving to a whole new level
We took our adventuring to a whole new level with a caving experience at the Crystal Cave at the St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park. The caving was strenuous and had to be in good shape. We were on our butts, belly, clinging to slippery walls and seeing amazing cave chambers for a 1/2 mile. Our guide from Upside Down Tours was super knowledgeable and I felt safe throughout the whole adventure. Would highly recommend this experience if you like getting out of your comfort zone and want a challenge. The cave has very tight spaces and so not every size of person would fit in it. Our #1 adventure in Belize.

The tour I didn’t know I needed
This was the tour that I didn’t know that I needed. I did the seven mile cave kayaking. I kayaked through five caves and I had a blast. This tour did not disappoint. If you want an unforgettable experience, this is the tour. I highly recommend this.

Amazing!
We did 2 tours with Upside Down. The cave tubing through St. Herman's was so relaxing and fun. Our guide Pedro was so informative about the Mayan culture and cave formations. Otun, our guide for crystal caves was absolutely amazing. He did a wonderful job helping us navigate through the cave all the way through Wonderland. He was extremely knowledgeable about the cave and the Mayan culture. Highly recommend them and upside down tours.

Upsidedown Tours is a five star company with excellent equipment and guides.
My wife and I did two separate tours with Upsidedown while in the Cayo region of Belize. We happened to stop by St Herman's visitor center to see what was there and found Abel and Rose at their facility where they store the caving equipment. They offer a variety of tours including a walk through of St Herman's and Crystal cave plus cave tubing and kayaking. Abel said that Crystal cave is pretty demanding, so we opted for St Herman's cave. Rose was available to take us through the cave which was really fortunate for us. But best to schedule ahead of time and not rely on luck. Rose is awesome. She took her time allowing us to really take in the beauty of the cave system. The next tour we scheduled ahead of time, the 7 mile cave kayak tour of Blue Hole and Cave Branch rivers. We met Barnaby and his team at St Herman's parking lot in the morning and drove with the kayaks to the launch point. From there we kayaked through several miles of cave with the occasional window to the outside. The water was mostly calm and suitable for beginners. There is plenty of opportunity to stop at various points to enjoy the sights or go swimming. Barnaby set up a cold lunch during one of the open stretches of river. At mid afternoon we arrived at the end point where a van awaited us to return to St Herman's parking lot. Barnaby is a wealth of knowledge of the area as well as Maya history and sites. He's worked with archeology teams in the past at a few different sites. As a bit of a Maya nerd myself I enjoyed sharing various research papers that I've discovered. Upsidedown Tours is a five star company with excellent equipment and guides.

Mayan Ruins and cave tubing
We did a 1 day tour with Upside Down and it was great. We had a large group, 14, and Abel handled us easily. We went to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins and Abel took us around. Abel was very knowledgeable about the history and archeology of the site. We then did a cave tubing trip and that was a blast. Abel is a good guy and is honest. Highly recommend

Crystal Cave
I’m an expedition caver from California, and visiting Crystal Cave has been the highlight of our time here in Belize so far. I’ve seen some of the deepest and most beautiful caves in the world on scientific and mapping expeditions, and I can say without reservation that this cave is not to be missed. It’s not just impressive in terms of Belize (which it certainly is), but impressive by standards extending well outside those borders. Even the hike to the cave from the visitor center is gorgeous. The Ceremonial Chamber and Wonderland beyond it are some of the most well-decorated you’ll find. Gorgeous draperies, columns, stalactites and stalagmites, helictites, and some more unusual speleothems: corroded stalagmites. In the more open area in the back of the Ceremonial Chamber are two stalagmites that, while I didn’t have my survey equipment (this was a tour, after all), I’d conservatively estimate at 10-12m in height. Our guide, Bernaby Burgos, was absolutely top-notch. He knows the cave and routes, the archaeology, the stories of the place; but beyond that and most importantly, he’s got a genuine passion for both caving and conservation. He cares about the place deeply, and this shines through in the tour in ways that really make the whole experience something special. This tour is an absolute must for anyone visiting Belize who appreciates caves and caving, I can’t recommend it highly enough.
